Bio
As an assistant professor at St. Mary's University College, Krista was instrumental in launching the second year of the two year Bachelor of Education program. Krista taught all the intermediate and advanced curriculum methodology course of the program. In these courses, pre-service teachers critically examined currrent and emerging topics for creating, planning and implementing effective learning environments. Krista also joined the Discovering Science outreach program and helped the team secure NSSRC funding and internal research grants. Krista graduated with her PhD in 2009 from the Graduate Division of Educational Reseach at the University of Calgary. She was awarded the Gallagher Galileo Research Fellow in 2006. After her fellowship, Krista stayed with the Galileo to continue working with professional development and research in K-12 Mathematics and Technology Education. Krista has been happily married to Paul for 21+ years. Their three almost grown children Michael, Dana and Sophia continue to fill their lives with delight and joy. Krista is a keen yogini, dog walker, swimmer, canoer, and cross-country skier.
