    • When Adam was 14, his father died in an accident. Adam assumed his place as head of the household which included his mother Christina (age 47) and two sisters (Christina age 19 and Nathalie age 17). Eight years later, in 1912 Adam (age 22) and Katherine Seader (age 26) immigrated to Canada. They brought with them their daughter Mary (age 1), Adam's mother Christina (age 55) and Adam's nephew John (age 3). After arriving in Stony Plain, Alberta on December 12, 1912, they made their home in the nearby communities of Burtonsville, Genesee, and finally Mewassin, Alberta.

      Adam was 55 when Katherine died in 1945. In 1949 he married a widow named Louise Klatt who had been born in Poland. They retired in Edmonton, Alberta. Adam Schnell died August 4, 1958 in Edmonton. He gravesite is located next to those of his first wife, Katherine, and his mother, Christina, in the Free Methodist Church Cemetery at Mewassin, Alberta.
